How Do I Get Internet in Rural Area, no Landline?

As per title, have a need for a few weeks internet access while camping, using laptop and/or ipad, but no landline. I have a rather patchy reception with my mobile phone when i'm up there so don't know how a computer would work or if it's a different thing from phone? As you will have guessed I am a real cabbage when it comes to things like this and would really appreciate some advice before I go shopping. Thank you :)

You have to find which network has reception in the area. Once you do you can use mobile Internet, even if it is just EDGE.
If you want to use your iPad, you'll need a phone that can create a WiFi HotSpot or a MiFi. If laptop, the phone or a USB modem.

    Your phone's model number?

If you can't even get a decent mobile signal on 2G, as is implied by your post, then 3 may be equally patchy or unavailable. In the absence of any w-fi hotspots, the only method you can use is 3G via your mobile, or via another device with 3G built in.
You need to check which networks, if any, provide 3G to that area.
If you use an iPad or other tablet then are you going to be able to charge it on site anyway?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

you could use a Wibe which boosts the signals http://shop.westbaseuk.com/brands/wibe.html/

use one for part of my job and does give us much better coverage than a mobile phone. but expensive
