En suite without toilet?

I dont have room in my bathroom for a free standing shower. I do have room in the bedroom to have an en suite shower room and have access to water drainage but not toilet waste. Is it worth doing just an en suite shower with basin but no toilet?
I know you can get macerators (with varying reviews) and to be honest I wouldnt use an en suite toilet but I also need to consider re-sale in the future. Would this put people off / lose value?
Any opinions?
Thanks

If resale is important, I would have a sink, toilet and shower in your ensuite. A bathtub in your main bathroom with a shower in bath.

If a house is advertised as having an en-suite then I would expect that to include a toilet.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

ive not had a problem selling a 4 bed house with a main bathroom on the 1st floor...downstairs toilet....and shower and handbasin in bedrooms 1 and 2.

The house in question sold after 3 viewings and an offer of the asking price.....so clearly that buyer was more than happy for no seperate toilet!

All I would say is that if there is plenty of space available then its a good use of space in my opinion without the toilet...but I wouldnt do it if space was limited.

Just to clarify..neither bedroom was advertised as en suite...more that the shower and handbasin was an added bonus!

Worst case, just take a wizz in the sink.

@I have spoken - that made me laugh.
There is definitely enough room for a really nice big shower and sink. A toilet would fit in but would have to be a macerator. I think there will be space for a toilet - seems a shame to pay so much for something I wouldnt use but I would want to be able to sell it as an en suite, so I guess I'll have to look into having the toilet.
    Thanks for the answers.

Yes, if that is what you want.

We have an en suite with a toilet but we both still tend to use the main bathroom toilet when the other person is in the bedroom as noise travels. We know bodily functions are normal but neither of us particularly wants to hear the other peeing, farting and pooing. :D

As for selling in the future, describe it as a shower room. That might attract as much interest as not having a toilet will lose interest.

Many developers now put a shower and basin only in the ensuite. It doesn't put people off buying them.

Don't get hung up on values etc do what YOU want.

DO NOT put a macerator in. That WILL put people off. They are the foulest invention in Christendom and you are guaranteed to have the engineer out at least twice a day.

I think not having a shower in the main bathroom would be worse than not having a toilet in the ensuite.

I've stayed at a friend's house with this set up - it's a little odd having to go through their bedroom in the morning just to have a shower.

So if you do the ensuite, put a shower in the main bathroom as well.

Not an easy option for the ladies though.

Most of us use the toilet more than once a day. Why wouldn't you use it?

I wouldnt use the en suite toilet because of smells and noises, particularly smells. It's bad enough if someone stinks up the bathroom, yet alone your bedroom (even if it is me making the stink). Before anyone suggests it, yes I shall look into therapy!

I will be putting a shower over the bath in the main bathroom but I do like a nice big walk in shower.

Maybe I'll try and make space for a toilet so when it comes to selling people can have the option of stinking their bedroom!:D

@ jellie - I could put a set of steps in there, just in case!

    It has raised another dilemma.....
With the space I have for the en suite I was going to use part of the space to access through the hallway as a very small laundry room (space for a washing machine with a condenser drier on top). If I use this space to be part of the en suite and still install the washing machine and tumble drier (accessed through the en suite) would this be weird? It would then leave room for a toilet when I moved.
