I have one with my bank, recently applied for Tesco card, got it, then got turned down by Virgin!! I know there is a link on main board to which credit agencies they use, couldn;t see tesco though!!

The easier to get cards give you lower credit limits and higher APR, for example Barclaycard inital and Vanquis
Your bank is always a good one to try also!0 -
Thanks, got my banks one!0

who do you bank with ?
if you can get tesco's i wouldnt think you have a bad CR , as from reading on here it seems one of the harder ones to get .. virgin might have turned you down for many reasons so i wouldnt rule out getting another decent card
the 3 easier cards to get are vanquis , barclays initial , and capital one but unless you are going to pay the card off in full every month i wouldnt try for these as the APR is very very high

again i wouldnt say lloyds is a easy card to get , also bank CC's are normally hard/easy as they have more information about you other lenders wont have ie:how you run your accounts etc
have you applied for your credit reports ? it might be worth £4 to apply for both experian and equifax and have a look to see wether one/both has anything adverse on them
If they are both good then you need to look at ... maybe you have enough available credit in releation to your earnings other reason might be virgin cards are (i think) underwritten by mbna so if another card ie tesco's is underwritten by the same company you have a high chance of being refused0 -
yes, i am going to get my credit reports, i do have debts from a few years ago, which need sorting out, my bank i presume, just went on my record with them, not a check.0
