BUT were there has been clear financial loss through no fault of the victim then sure, give them BACK what they have lost.
Wow, you've now become a "victim"?
Theoretically this has stopped me from being able to make a deposit of my own into the ISA - so I should at least get to keep the interest accrued?!?
But if you only lost "theoretically" - wouldn't theoretical compo from the bank be fair? ;)

Personally I wouldn't ask for, or expect, compensation unless I felt that I'd been disadvantaged in some material way.

I don't think that the OP has suffered any loss here. "Codetown" sounds like the sort of person who enjoys being a pain in the bum and writing "Mister Angry" letters, seeking recompense for all the time he's wasted writing "Mister Angry" letters.

Tell the bank/BS to go ahead and take the money and just get on with your life.

By dragging it out on here, and by spending time to compose your letter to the bank you're just creating a problem that doesn't actually exist.

It is an overriding feature of his posts ........... but .......... if it gives him a purpose in life, why should we deny him his one pleasure?
