No problem - nothing wrong with having your 2p's worth.
If you read ksh123's original post you'll see that there is one and only one question in there, and that was "Do I still have "no claims" as far as other insurers are concerned?" and the answer to this is as I said "No".
As you (and brazilianwax) point out I was mistaken with what I said about carrying over no-claims discounts. If it goes to court I'll open my defence with the fact that I started my post with "as far as I'm aware..."
I'm pleased you got cheaper insurance than last year, and the most likely reason you did so is that you switched. But we have absolutley no way of knowing whether or not you would have got it even cheaper if you hadn't made a claim. But actually this is all irrelevant anyway because at no point did I ever mention premium cost, either going up or down.
At what point did I say my no-claims isn't protected? In actual fact it is.
I'm sure you didn't mean your last sentence to come accross so pompous (and ironic?) so I'll let that one go.0
