Autoaid seems an absolute bargain, but I am very conscious of the saying that "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is, too good to be true" anyone else have any experience with them. My RAC renewal is due in June, we buy through Tesco vouchers so its quite inexpensive, but Autoaid does look tempting.
Autoaid is very good, the downside is that you have to pay and reclaim so would need to come up with a large amount up front for a long distance recovery.

everyone seems to be paying £80+ for breakdown cover. I've always paid £30 ish.

Not sure why more people don't get these. Is there something I need to know about breakdown cover? Admittedly I don't drive more than 20 miles away from home. Being based in London that's as far as I would travel. Are the £30 breakdown cover useless for people travelling up and down the country?

I vguely remembr something along the lines that the £30 cover will not return the car back to home but will take it to the nearest service centre and drop me off to the nearest hotel if I break down.

I have used Autoaid for several years and have had to call on them twice. On both occasions I received the reclaim money before my credit card (which I'd paid with) payment was due.

That was my experience..however, one needs to have sufficient credit on the card in the first place...sometimes bills are several hundreds of pounds, especially with a long-distance recovery?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
