No it doesn't. It is just respect for the time and interest that a potential candidate has taken the time and effort to invest.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Not a company's responsibility to tell you why you weren't successful.
Esp if you have been to an interview I think you should get feedbackWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Try having interview, 4 weeks for outcome, "congratulations on a succesful interview, we will contact you by the end of the week"
6 Weeks later with numerous attempts to contact them only to final get a call back saying 'Sorry, you passed the interview but didn't get the job as a better candidate got it, you will be put in a pool for future vacancies'
.
how cruel, i would interpret "successful interview" to mean i got the job, i would probably have told everyone i did0 -

I've added a poll of the suggestions so far. I'll add any new ones that may crop up too.If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0

Typical arrogant employers point of view. If the boot is on the other foot when people fail to turn up for interviews by not phoning them for changing their mind, employers come on here spitting out their dummies saying that job seekers are inconsiderate and don't want to work. A bunch of hypocrites as far as I am concerned.0 -

Maybe people that hold all the cards can be hypocrites? If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0
