Vodaphone - 12 Months Free Line Rental w/Nokia 6300 - any catches?

My contract with O2 is coming to an end, though its still quite a good deal, as they halved my line rental when I renewed last time (is £17.50 a month for 200 cross-network minutes / 175 texts per month - which is pretty much what I use every month). I'd like a Nokia 6300 as my phone upgrade and noticed that if I switch to Vodaphone I can get this for free and 12 months free line rental on a contract which gives me 500 anytime cross network minutes and 250 text messages a month:

This seems like an amazingly good deal, but I was wondering if there are any catches to this? I'm assuming a) I can transfer my existing number to them and b) I can switch contracts at the the end of the 12 months if I want, but is this really the case? Are there any other caveats to be aware of? I don't need or want any extra services (3G etc.), just a nice small basic phone and a good deal on the minutes & texts.

Thanks

Paul

    well, this offer is from coolnewmobile. Free by way of Cashback.

    Vodafone don't allow number porting after the contract has been set up. If Coolnewmobile don't provide porting service then you won't be able to port your number. it's a 12 months contract so you can cancel after 12 months

    I suggest the following;

    1) read the details on CNM website about how you claim your cashback,porting and anything else of interest.

    2) read reviews/comments about CNM on this forum particularly about claiming cashback. - very important

    3) there are many such deals about like this so compare. Again there are some good links in this forum to sites that have lots of deals to look at.

    4) There are some on here who know tons about Cashback and companies like CNM so consider their advice.

    Thanks for the advice, I checked about porting - apparently coolnewmobile can only port to: 3, Orange and T-Mobile. There is a good deal on Orange for a free Nokia 6300 and their Canary 40 package (12 months free rental - think its cashback though, so may not be so straightforward, and the contract is for 18 months...).

    Will read the info. on this forum about cashback and companies like CNM to find out more before doing anything, though...
