Believe me, if i can find somewhere to then i will, lol. Might i also add i'm not running it so i don't expect to be too bad. Its a marathon where you aren't allowed to run it. :cool:Slimming World Challenge 2017 0/30.5lb

I can't comment on East Coast, as I've not travelled on their routes, but a benefit of first class travel on Virgin is that they have First Class lounges at major stations that you can use for a couple of hours before (and after) your journey, with free tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks.
We were really grateful that we'd paid a few quid extra to travel first class last time as when we got to Euston we found all services suspended due to a signalling failure - we just went to the lounge and sat with coffe and biscuits for an hour until it was all resolved (just a shame it was upstairs and the lift wasn't working so we had to lug our suitcases up !)
This is on top of the on-train benefits of more leg room, less crowded carriages and more food and drink.0 -

There are showers available at Edinburgh Station, but the charge is a eye-watering £5.0

I'll be happy to pay that actually. Will make my journey much more comfortable, and much cheaper than paying for a hotel room for the night which i wouldn't be sleeping in just for the sake of a quick shower before i travel home.
Thanks for letting me know.Slimming World Challenge 2017 0/30.5lb

Not unheard of for me to pay £5 for a day pass to a gym when DH has been running in other towns. Saves having to schlep back to the hotel or drive with him stinking the place out!!!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

I use East Coast from London to York and Edinburgh to visit relatives. As I know well in advance when I am going, I get the cheapest possible deal. I always use first class, and the difference is amazing. Unlimited teas and coffee, and you get fed with free wine and beer (at certain times) and soft drinks. It is worth every penny extra, especially if you can book weeks in advance.0
