Bit of a drive but we had a lovely day fossil hunting at Charmouth, plenty of pretty villages on the way there too.

If you just fancy a pleasant walk, try the Rodway trail. It was part of Julia Bradbury's railway walk, and passes through several old stations, or what is left of them anyway. Chesil Beach, worth a look, Nothe Fort, all sorts of things really. Web search, easy peasy.

Bovington and Monkey World are quite close to each other - so Tanks in the Morning & Apes in the Afternoon.

Also there's the Shire Horse Centre at Verwood, nice people do good work with the horses, deserve some support!

Portland Bill, beautiful cliff top walks. Thorncombe woods dorchester, Abbotsbury, Bridport, Lyme Regis, Kingston Maurward, Lulworth Cove as already mentioned, Ringstead Bay, hire akayak & explore teh coastline.
