Bit of a drive but we had a lovely day fossil hunting at Charmouth, plenty of pretty villages on the way there too.0

If you just fancy a pleasant walk, try the Rodway trail. It was part of Julia Bradbury's railway walk, and passes through several old stations, or what is left of them anyway. Chesil Beach, worth a look, Nothe Fort, all sorts of things really. Web search, easy peasy.0

Bovington and Monkey World are quite close to each other - so Tanks in the Morning & Apes in the Afternoon.
Also there's the Shire Horse Centre at Verwood, nice people do good work with the horses, deserve some support!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
