As someone who remembers their childhood vividly, I would often complain they hurt + other excuses if my dad bought me some shoes I didn't like (He is very MSE so they were very cheap shoes) so don't blame the OP for ignoring her, especially if she was being a little grumbler!

Just a a side, cheap isn't what MSE is about, its about value for money.

I tried to explain to a 20 year old the other week about cost vs worth when he was looking at £4500 computers considering he really only plays one or two games that arent RAM/graphics heavy.

He didnt understand and I resigned myself to the fact that its just something he'll need to learn with age! In a few years his computer will still be good, but it will also be largely inferior to models that are probably half the cost!

He's at the age where he's working, still living at home etc so only has disposable income. Just wait till he has his own place and bills to pay :rotfl:

Tried to tell him to save it for a deposit for a car/mortgage but....oh well.

You should increase the board money he pays. ;)

I hope you DO charge him board money? Don't you?

When I first started work (aeons ago) my take home pay was £30 per week ... tenner board to my Mam, tenner savings and a tenner for me. :)

I can honestly say that no, I dont charge him board money.

He's not my son ;) (and i'm not old enough to be his mother either) :D

Hi, as a former Clarks store Manager the best thing to do (as others have said) take your daughter, the shoes and your receipt into store. Explain to somebody what has happened and they should be able to help you. There should be no need to demand to see manager to start with unless you don't get anywhere.

Sounds like the original assistant was training if he got somebody to check, I've fitted 1,000 of children in my time and you will get it wrong sometimes due to style of shoe etc. I always just changed the shoes no problem if someone came back even for a tiny mark!

Wow. You obviously are not the parent of a 5 year old girl or you would know that they whine and moan a lot. One of mine would claim shoes hurt her if she didn't like them so that I wouldn't buy them. Personally if I had shoes fitted by clarks I would trust that they were fitted properly and that they were either not too big or too small thus causing my child harm from rubbing. .

Ye, maybe the dry blood was also staged.

I think denise38 was replying to the ridiculous comments by splish-splash, not to the OP.

That makes your comment alright then? Read twice, engage your brain, think, post and check what you've posted perhaps?

    Oh do shut up
