I won and paid via paypal on an auction last week, item was listed as "Estiimated delivery 25/26 April, 48hr Parcelforce"
I contacted the seller earlier today to confirm if the item was on it's way, seller said courier was collecting item tomorrow.
I'm on holiday this week, so, if it's not here by Saturday, no one will be home during the day next week, where do I stand now?

What exactly was the date you paid on and how many days did they have as their despatch time?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0

The delivery is only 'estimated'. Perhaps you should have let the seller know you wouldn't be available next week.
If it has been collected today and sent by 48 hour you won't be seeing it until Tuesday probably.0

We all do it, sellers and buyers. But it can be a pain.
I am not entirely sure re PF, but when they cannot deliver to me, they take it to my local Post Office. Perhaps you could either try to get the tracking details from the seller and contact PF direct and ask them to either delay delivery or hold at the PO until your return.0

It's not really an estimate if it's totally impossible to achieve, which is the case if the courier is only collecting it today.
Any definition of "estimate" states roughly the same thing which is a close guess or aproximation of something.
Firsttimer, if the item is something that you could do without for now, all you need to do is not to collect it from the courier depot (if it's taken back there after an attempted delivery) and then ask the seller for a full refund.
If they don't agree to this, simply open a paypal non received claim and you will get your money back. (Provided it was a paypal payment you used).
If it costs the seller a few £s, then they might start being a bit more realistic with their delivery "estimates".0

Seller has now stated courier company cannot collect today but will arrange collection for Monday!!!George_Michael wrote: »ask the seller for a full refund
Can I do that now, if so, how?
I'd rather not deal with the seller any further.0

Email them and explain the situation, ask for a Request to cancel transaction or maybe ask them to delay the collection for suitable time for you.
Be polite as you need to deal with your seller to sort this out.0

They say 26th, and it's not even collected until the 29th?????
I'd definitely be asking to cancel. And if refused, big fat neg and low starsOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Although it's estimated that estimate in this case is based on it being posted on the 23rd or 24th and then 48 hours for delivery so the seller is late in dispatching compared to the time in which they said they would do so when listing.
Don't use Parcelforce but does 48 sometimes arrive the next day? Seems odd to have two dates for a service that is specifically 48 hours (although not surprising considering eBay puts these dates together). In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
