I am looking for something peak summer hols - between 11-28th Aug, DH's leave. So far we are thinking of cruising, Celebrity have a fab deal on if I can get the nerve to book with a US TA.

What sort of deals are there usually last minute in August?

I find it hard to wait till last minute as I am a planner.:o

The good US prices on cruises don't always include port charges and taxes. A well known flight company got my cruise for me at Xmas and it was £800 cheaper than the best price offered .

Is this the £30 from MoneyVista? Or a different one that I missed out on. Just mine was paid out on Jan 27th, seems strange that I would have done something ahead of you lot.

There were two bites at the cherry;)

    Happy Anniversary Logie ♥

Our local Littlewoods Clearance today was revamped into 'The Outlet' = 20% off everything, plus free shopping bag, trolley token keyring & a lolly.

As you know we are going away & I need to turn house into an OCD show house for house/cat sitters (pretending I always live this clean :o )

So I purchased a steam mop for £24 :) Well I take my hat off to steam cleaners :D The kitchen floor is sparkling, bathrooms too, the wooden stairs glisten & the stubborn stain on my wool carpet has gone :T:T
If you are wanting a cheap & very easy to use steamer it's a Quest 900w Steam Mop.
Even Fourp who normally cleans kitchen floor on his hands & knees could not find a single negative :eek:

Does Fourp still use a film in his camera?:rotfl::rotfl:

    Enjoy PA.

27/4/13: For those reading back/catching up, we did a pop quiz later in the night - so once it starts to become less useful, skip onto page 81 and see post 1615 for a summary of the useful posts.

Moving onto the soft drinks, as I clearly need to stick with them:rotfl::rotfl:, I have Sains Br'nd Mtch vs Tsco, Coca Cola Zero 12x330ml cans pack - £5.35 S £3.00 T. Also £3.00 in M, so Tvs M (not N.I.) or... T vs A! £3.00 is above my guide price (so I think that's still too expensive) but might work for someone...

M's offer is said to be until 12/5, but T's currently has until 30/4. Perhaps this will be rolled-over, but if not (and perhaps potential DTD after 30/4?), Tvs M between 1/5 and 12/5???

Not being included on M list in its own right, as 7.6p/100ml is too much for me! But it is Coke Zero.

I've heard theories that the more people search for a flight, the more likely the price is to increase, so your hourly/ daily checks on the price could move the price upwards. Also that they use cookies to monitor your interest and push the price up.

    Could be urban myth.

They're not theories. It (probably) applies to all airline/travel agent websites. In general, the more you look, the more the price appears to be. Clear your cookies/history and strangely enough prices start to tumble. It's been proven time and time again.
Another, especially with Ryanair, never search the website on a Sat/Sun, leave the searching until midweek. Much greater chance of finding cheaper flights. It's all down to supply and demand. The majority book at weekends, therefore they know the custom is waiting.

How do they know I'm going to live until I'm 89:T

OH is going to live until he is 86.

When he dies I will have £33 a month to live on so reckon I might have input some figures incorrectly. If not I better start stockpiling those tinned tomatoes:rotfl:

  • Hi Locarr, I already booked them at a cheaper price but have to keep it a bit stumm from the woman with the brains in our family :D

So just observing how the price is evolving, she is basically saying we can go now but I have to go on the wagon for 2 months.

Well I'll be away abroad for 10 days of that.

And she'll be away on business for maybe 15 days of that.

I think we can live with that. ;)

Yes, not myths at all, and I always put in a date near and search the whole week/month .
That way you can see the date you want without letting them know Exactly what you want.
