I was just saying to OH today, I seldom look at e bay anymore. I have listed the same 20 items, really low start price and the lowest postage I can manage for about 10 times now (free listings only) and not getting a nibble at all.
I thing the Royal Mail are strangling e bay, and they are killing the only thing that can keep them alive.
Well done on offering them, do you have a freecycle near you?

Ive not really had many ebay sales for a very long time now. I was also just relisting but now as every item has to be reviewed and the new postal rates added it takes so long I barely manage to get 10 items listed at a time.

For the light but bulkier items Ive been using a courier - either collect+ or myhermes. You print the lable off, stick it to the parcel and take it to a parcel shop - I am very fortunate that we have several parcel shops quite close to us. Myhermes also do collection - they collect the parcel from you or from your safe place. Normally its £3.99 but heavier items are more and also collection from the door is another 50p or so.

So Ive used collection+ about half a dozen times and it is excellent, parcels tracked every inch of the way and 2 even arrived next day, good value for £3.99

I agree, some items to charge for first class recorded were £4.10 (and I then buy the Jiffy bag on top) so 99p clothes make it not worthwhile for a buyer. Good idea re: free cycle. I've got rid of most of them now I think so will put the others on free cycle. Thanks

I don't think it's Royal Mail who are killing eBay on their own - I think eBay are helping killing eBay.

The fees now for transactions are extortionate. It's now more like Amazon than an auction site also. People on there only want new goods or high-end second hand goods. Old cloths and the like, people just aren't spending money on.

I too now use other postal couriers for larger items as I was paying £6+ for Royal Mail 1st class - hopefully the outliers will grow to remove this and inject some competition into the marketplace.
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

I've been Ebaying a load of the kids clothes (boys aged 2-3, smart M&S shirts, pumpkin patch, ted baker etc) and tigercubs aged up to 6 months girls (again, all decent stuff M&S etc). Had barely any bidders and they've been listed twice. Was going to give to a charity shop but if anyone is close and would like them (very mse :money:as free!) I'd rather them go to someone I know.......

    Are you on Facebook?

Local selling pages on fb are a good place to sell kids clothes, just search for 'your town' selling / for sale

Totally agree about the fees. I used to sell alot on ebay but only really sell things now that I can't get a decent price for any where else. I also find buyers are alot moanier than they used to be. Ive been using Hermes to cut down on postage but it is slower than RM. I always give people the choice to pay extra if they want it quicker by RM. But no, people want the item cheap, the post cheap and they want it yesterday :o:rotfl::rotfl:

I have had problems printing the Dr Os.
On print preview I can see all 7 vouchers.
When I print I get the first one and either one or two others, that's all.
The ones I did yesterday I stuck in an envelope and sent back to them. (work envelope, free stampy)
I did try with one lot changing to landscape, just made the same ones, but bigger!

OH had same problem, I use Chrome, and worked fine. Only needed to print 3 outof 4 pages

"Good" morning everyone, rather dull out there. Does meant hat it is cooler in the spare room for the sanding though.

Logie - glad you got your scan date, a lot of us will be waiting to hear the results and ready to hopefully celebrate.

Tinyshoes - hope it goes as well as it can, hope you do your mum proud.

Started reading back but then realised there are one or two other things to be done, staying logged in but have to do a few bits on here.

I migh muck up artha's count, I normally say good morning but rarely have chance to say goodnight :rotfl::rotfl:
It's ok I gave up on that. I'm obviously not OCD enough in that area:D If I ever find myself at a loose end I might have a count.:)
