Amgelsmadv, maybe the time DS1 spends with his biological dad is what he needs. he could realise being with his mum et al, is better, or maybe it's time for hiim to make decisions about his future and who is lives with. Don't know scenario, or DS1's age. But you know you've all done all you could.
[...]
He's just turned 11. The problem with the thinking is that any child at his age would feel the same looking at it. He goes to his dad's and gets to stay up late, watch 18 rated movies, have unlimited computer time, wear same underpants for 7 days, not wash or brush his teeth, and eat pizza for every meal. Add to that he gets what he wants even if he misbehaves. Who wouldn't want to leave my home with its rules and regulations!
Hopefully he'll come to see later that it was all put in place for his benefit.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Good news - Potatoes and onions planted, top plot all dug and manured ready for beans and peas and other such goodies. Strawberries all transplanted, boxes laid for each child (of the group I run) to have a section of growing their own.
The dads group went Ice skating - what a great time we all had. Only my second time skating but I was zooming round by the end. Tried to skate backwards a few times and landed on my aris! :rotfl: Really feeling it today though; I'm getting old.
Dogs well and truly walked in the lovely heat. Terrapin surfing on his dock in the pond and all fish feeding well. Wife and DD2 went to see Iron Man 3 - her facebook (the DD that is) describes it as "Epic" so it must've been good; she does have a thing for RDJ though! :rotfl:
Bad News - Things have become unmanageable with DS1. He has been more than abusive to OH and she's had enough. It has become a war zone in our house with everyone suffering whilst DS1 takes his anger out on all of us. No manner of punishment or reward works. OH told him to pack his stuff. Looks like he's moving to his Dad's during the summer holidays. I can say this honestly - I really am completely mixed about it. On one hand I'm sending a boy away that I love dearly to be with, well, a less than capable adult but on the other hand I'm making OH, DD1, 2 and 3 and DS2's lives easier. I'm so mixed with it I have cold sores all over, my hairs falling out faster than ever and I'm a bag of nerves. Not to mention the rage I feel that I really am struggling with whenever he talks to OH like she's a piece of ****. If it was anyone but my own child, they'd be flat out.
FloFlo - I'm unsure of what your first day back is of, but good luck with whatever it may be!
TinyShoes, Nannylala et Lala all and HopePray. xx :A Thoughts and hugs with you as always. :A
I hope everyone has a great day. Reflecting on this morning's news about the girls in Ohio; some good does come from bad situations. I do hope they're able to move on with their lives - something we all have to do at times.
AngelsMadv - the way you have tried so hard with your DS1 has been inspirational - i don't know how you have kept your hands off him at times but your efforts to give him a stable home have been amazing - a short while with his dad will let him see just how good he has it - let him go and he will be back!!
Nannylala - I so agree - for people living on their own having someone say good morning and good night makes you feel just that little less alone - so Good Morning everyone.
Off out to enjoy the sunshine - even up here in Aberdeen - gotta make the most of it - could be snowing tomorrow!!!0 -
Morning all. Nice sunny one down here. Really hope it holds for tomorrow.
Angelsmadv just wanted to say maybe DS1 will realise the grass is not greener, and you will all look back at the experience one day as a positive. :A0 -

Even 11yr olds will eventually miss rules (and clean grundies:D) when things are lax for a few weeks.. Even though they complain about jobs, rules, discipline etc, I think it does them the world of good and kids crave the stability and knowing boundaries - hark, listen to me thinking I know everything!!! I'm not being condescending in anyway but speaking from experience as my mum had an absolutely awful time with my brother aged 11-18. It lasted a long, long time but he came out the other side and is now a lovely man so there is hope.
Off to get tigercub from her nap. Later gators xxTiger
