So I cam only assume that I have the option to be on E7 but currently on single rate.
Only if your house has been wired up as such.
Just because the meter has the option to charge at 4 rates doesn't mean that your supplier will agree to do so, nor that the meter has been installed with this option available. The same is true for E7.

    Ok, thanks.

I think i'm better off on a single rate, though I have to say I'm finding it quite confusing trying to decide which is the best one to switch to and different comparison sites give me different options.

My question is about what type of meter I have as it looks like a multi rate but i only have single rate showing.

That meter is capable of being configured as a multi rate meter but yours is not - this is obvious from the cables.

So I cam only assume that I have the option to be on E7 but currently on single rate.

Everyone has the option to be on E7 if they want to be but you are currently on a single rate tariff. If you requested E7, they would fit a new meter.

I was not aware that if you had an E7 meter you could choose to be on a single rate, which is the impression I get.

You don't currently have an E7 meter.
