Hello, I just need a wee it of recommendation. We have booked a holiday this morning for 2014 (:T) but I have gone onto book travel insurance and seem to be unable to book it for more than 12 months in advance. Can anyone recommend a company to me who will do this more than a year in advance please?

One way would be to take out an annual policy rather than single trip.0

How would that work if the holidays is over a year away? Wouldn't an annual policy expire before the holiday starts?Gloomendoom wrote: »One way would be to take out an annual policy rather than single trip.

You can start an annual policy up to 3 months in advance on direct travel insurance. So it depends when in 2014 you are going on holiday.0

Have you considered changing your Bank Current Account to one that offers Travel Insurance as a benefit. Nationwide offer Free European Travel Insurance which can be upgraded to Worldwide cover for £40/yr. If you or a family member has an existing medical problem then it needs to be declared and they will quote for the increased risk.0

Thanks travellerboy. I hadn't thought of that. Problem is my son has to have an operation in July so I don't know whether to pay and have to declare it or wait until August when we know how it has gone.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. Yes. However, if an incident that prevents you travelling happens within the contract period of the annual policy, you are covered, despite the date of the trip falling after expiry.
Otherwise, as was pointed out to me when I asked the same question, annual policies would be pretty pointless.0

Unless your party is large, old and/or has some pre-existing health issues, that seems insanely expensive. According to the MSE guide, annual family cover can be had from £30.
Have you tried putting your details into a comparison site like moneysupermarket?0

what a donut I am!! that's much better prices (under £30). Just need to declare medical stuff and will run a back to back annual as it will cover me for cottage in August this year and legoland weekend as well. what a donut I am!! that's much better prices (under £30).
