Junior ISA rate boosted to 6%!!!!

This is the first time I've posted on the forum, but having received a letter today from Halifax I couldn't not share this with others. I opened a normal cash ISA with the Halifax last year and opened another just before the 2013 tax year ended. At the same time I opened a junior ISA with the Halifax as the rate wasn't too bad and I could do it online. The letter I received today told me that because I have an adult ISA with a qualifying balance (over £1) it meant they have increased the junior ISA rate from 2.3 ( I think it was originally) to 6%!!!!! This rate will remain as long as I have an adult ISA remaining with the Halifax. Lovely surprise! Just wish I could open a junior ISA for my eldest son who is unfort ately stuck with CTF.

I've moved your thread over to the ISAs sub-board

Hate to disappoint you, this is no news here. Halifax JISA has been 6% for ages when a parent had an ISA there as well, or when the child is over 16.
However, may be it's a timely reminder for some who haven't yet got round to it.0
