I'll try and remember my 30, obviosuly some are things my OH specifically would want but you might get ideas from it:
1. 30 cakes (iced a letter on each one to say happy 30th birthday OH then some exclamation marks and I think two had stars on them!)
2. 30 candles for the 30 cakes
3. The 30 20ps in a frame
4. 30 scratch cards
5. 30 golf tees
6. 30 fishing flies
7. 30 socks (15 cheap pairs from primark)
8. 30 italian cremes (one of OHs fave sweets)
9. 30 love hearts
10. A party bag with 30 party bag toys in it
11. 30 I owe yous (card) - make them as sensible or as naughty as you want!
12. 30 songs (CD of number 1s from each birthday)
13. 30 stickers
14. 30 red pens (he's a teacher)
15. 30 marbles
16. 30 of my favourite memories of us (card)
17. 30 30s (confetti 30s)
18. 30 kisses (card - I put bright red lipstick on and kissed it 30 times so the inside was covered in kisses)
19. 30 happy birthdays in 30 languages (card - wrote happy birthday in 30 languages (lots of googling!)
20. 30 dogs. This one was a bit random but i was stuck for ideas lol He was born 1982 which was the year of the dog so with another card I stuck in 30 pictures of different types of dog!)
21. 30 rubbish jokes (card with jokes written in it)
22. 30 drawing pins
I'm struggling to remember the rest - I had a list at one point but I can't find it!! Anyway, some were silly n to make up number n some were things he specifically likes /wants /needed. Think there were more food things oh and I think £30 of itunes vouchers. There's some ideas anyway!

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to get a paper from the year he was born? and perhaps one for every year following?

We go to the Lake District every year and use Lake Lovers dot com.

They have great self catering appartments at good prices for a mid week break depending on the season.

I also love the 30 things for 30 idea.

Hi op,

For my OH's 30th birthday I bought him 30 presents, not all big by any means, some were small with sentimental value and some were related to things he loves. It took a lot of time and thought but I managed to do all 30 which shows a huge effort I think and is lovely for a special big birthday!

I also booked a nice long weekend in Estonia as his big pressie but you dont have to do that

love the idea of the 30 pics, Might do that on Tesco as they keep sending me a code for half price album creator lol.
I finally got somewhere booked in the lakes so that's his main pressie out of the way.
He is one of a kind lol, he never wants any presents "as long as we are together" is all the answer I ever get bless him.
So anyway we away for 2 nights but get to spend the morning of his birthday with our lo, when we get back gonna go out for the day just the 3 of us, then got a meal with his family too.
But from me personally wanted to do something special and I lobe the 30 things idea, gives it a personal touch just need to think of my 30 things now lol!

It's my DH's 30th in January: originally I had been thinking of booking a large cottage and inviting some friends along. We go on holiday every year with a group of mates so everyone was happy to pay for themselves. However we have since discovered I will be 38 weeks pregnant :eek: so been looking at this thread with interest.

I'm a SAHM so will probably be doing the 30 Things as something thoughtful and cheap! Probably a cheapo MP3 player with number ones from every birthday as the "main" present. Neither of us are into gadgets and we have lovely holidays every year, plus I can always use the line " baby will be the best present of all " :rotfl:

Yeah I am in love with the 30 things idea!!!
I think it will mean more as it is personal to the individual and also from the amount of time and effort that will go into it!

so its getting very close to my hubby's birthday now and still not got everything :eek:, got a hotel booked for 2 nights over his birthday and started my 30 things list but I need more things, got a list of 23 things at the moment but any suggestions for the other 7 would be greatly appreciated.:)

My BF is 30 next April and I need to start planning!

I have a budget of around £700 - £800 pounds as long as I can pay for things in stages so he doesn't notice!

I want to throw him a party in with this but I think there will only be about 25 of us if everyone came so maybe a meal somewhere would be more suitable?

I'd love to book him an experience or two somewhere but unless he pulls his finger out and loses some weight he'll be too heavy to do anything.

No Idea what else to do, he is really into computer games, like obsessed with them so I'd like to do something with that but no idea what you can do with computer games haha.

Wondering if there is anyway I could get him a days "work experience" with a games house or something?

Sorry I really don't have any idea. Maybe go onto google and see if anywhere local to you has any experience days to do with gaming?

I have about 2 weeks left to get stuff, still trying to get bloody 20p's, not a lot of 1983 ones around lol, plenty of 82 and 84 ......... as per seem to have let time slip away, safe to say I am starting to panic slightly:eek:
