Got approved. Awaiting delivery of the card!
Just a further question:
As someone who is planning on doing most of his spending on the credit card and paying it off in full every month (to avoid the overdraft charge I'm currently incurring monthly), is there a point in applying for a second card?
With the Vanquis, obviously the APR is high, but I'll be repaying in full so it shouldn't matter. If I tried applying for a slightly better card (but not as good as the Barclaycard I originally got declined for) and got declined again, would it affect anything with the Vanquis I was accepted for?
And what are the advantages of having multiple credit cards? Obviously if I could get accepted for a cashback card that would be more useful than the standard 'bad credit' vanquis card I'm getting, but does a credit rating change differently if you're spending the same amount of money (as I wouldn't spend any more on multiple cards) but on 2/more cards?
The card I would probably go for is one of the Sainsbury's cards (probably the Nectar Mastercard).
Probably getting ahead of myself, but just curious.0 -

I'd say wait 3 months- pay everything on time but not too early so your balance doesn't read 0!
Then try Capital One Classic extra...0.5% cashback
Why don't you try your bank who know you for years??0
