Thanks Ich. I know that this really is going to be a problem. There must be a record somewhere that we were on that flight for security reasons. BA aren't going to play ball on this I am sure. I have tried the net but can't find a site that can help.

Do you not have a record of a hotel booking, credit-card/bank statement etc.
I am not sure how long airlines have to keep flight/passsenger records but I an sure it will be some considerable time for security purposes.
If you have some other document, or all else fails and you feel so inclined to start proceedings you can tell them to send the passenger manifest for your flight on that day to the court to prove you were not on the flight.

I have had contact from BA and they have looked into my case. I somehow put down 2008 as the travel year but it was infact 2006. Though still within the timescale the only way I could possibly get some sort of compensation was to take them to court. They have however given us £200 in BA Flight vouchers as a gesture of goodwill. Although we would have preferred cash we are happy that BA have shown some thought in the matter. Thanks to all who have posted replies.

That's a very good result, considering. Well done to you, but well done too to BA!

A good result....you were likely too late to take them to court as this has a 6 year limit from the date of the flight/cancellation

Hi, We are in a similar situation with B.A. over a BMI baby flight in 2010. We have the credit card details to prove we paid BMI and have been refused as we don't have the boarding passes or the booking confirmation. Have asked them for all the in formation they hold on me or my family who travelled and they have stated there is none. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Start a legal claim by issuing a NBA letter. The airline will have to prove that you were not aboard the flight but you should gather as many details as possible such as the credit card statement, any other purchases from the date of the flight which puts you in the proximity of the airport(s) involved/photos etc
Thank you very much for your advice. Greatly appreciated !!

    Hi again,
Have re-read the mail from B.A. and this is what it states
" We hold all previous complaints and flights operation logs for BMI and BMI baby and sorry to disappoint you but we hold no information on you relating to a BMI baby flight. Dispite holding information B.A only hold information provided by BMI and its not reasonable to assume that they hold information on me or other members of my family"
Good news is we have found all the Booking confirmation for the accommodation with the original emails and have contacted the car park at Cardiff to confirm as well. Also have the credit card statement showing we paid BMI baby. Will keep you posted.:o
