Reselling tickets for blatant profit

I just tried to order some tickets, from Ticketmaster, for my daughter to see JLS at the Glasgow Hydro in December. What a shock, all the good seats have sold out.
The annoying thing is that if you go to Ticketmaster's reseller site, Get Me In, there are prime tickets for sale already, at greatly over-inflated prices. This is nothing more than a blatant profiteering scam which is being promoted by the seller!
Fair enough if someone buys tickets, their circumstances change, and they need to sell for the face price, but allowing people to buy tickets now to sell on straight away is just wrong.

I am sure I read something about this not so long ago, Think that there is a connection between the two sites. Might be wrong but i remember at the time thinking it was a shame that real fans or supporters where in essence put off.
Aren't JLS splitting up now?Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -

Get Me In is the reseller wing of Ticketmaster, yes. That's what makes it even more annoying!
JLS.....yes they are.:j0 -
Ticketmaster/seatwave et al get massive allocations of tickets from the promoters and sell them at massively inflated prices while pretending to be fans. The promoters get most of the additional profit.
There's an undercover documentary about it available on YouTube.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Just on the news this morning that JLS are splitting up.
Think yourself lucky you didn't get the tickets....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I saw a C4 Dispatches programme about how the reseller sites have people sitting there with stacks of credit cards buying tickets up as soon as they go on sale, only to put them back on sale at a ramped up price.
Sharon Hodgson MP is campaigning toward creating a fairer secondary market for ordinary fans - take a look at http://www.sharonhodgson.org/ticket-touting-private-members-bill
These venues also get my back up when they add on various spurious charges including charging me £2 to print my own ticket out!!0 -
Makes me glad to me a Closet Take That Fan! lol!Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0
