Unlocking Sony K800i

Hi,
Can this be unlocked now, or is it still one of those silly unlockable phones?
I can only find remote unlocking on the internet which sounds dodgy.
Has anyone been able to unlock theirs from market stalls etc?
Thanks.
Have a look here
If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself then I can recommend this company who do a postal unlocking service on ebay. I have used them a few times now and service has been excellent."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

you can always ask for the code from the network.
the only places i know of that unlock these are davinciteam and total multi server (both are internet/server based unlockers)0 -
If your a t mob customer they'll do it for 15 sheets, takes 28 days0

It depends on what CID security certificate is on you phone. If it is 51 or below the credits are quite cheap for the unlockers to buy. If it is CID 52, then the credits are expensive and you have to buy 50 at a time and they only have a 7 day guarantee. So most of the unlockers won't touch them, because what they would have to charge and what you can get it done for yourself would be about the same.
davinciteam will do it online, but it's 50 Euros - £35, probably better to call your service provider and see what they charge.
As to whether it is CID52 or not, if you bought it since March these year or you have connected it SEUS to update it, then it probably is.0 -

if you want to check your CID certificate, download the wotanserver debranding client and follow the instructions given.
you should end up with something like this
Connect your phone, pressing "C"
waiting...

If you're on T-mobile, its likely most unlocking shops can unlock it there and then.....
...trouble is, they probably don't know they can.. ;-)No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

very few if any uk t-mobile k800i's are brown.
James, not quite sure what you're on about there.
You can't be talking about the colour of the phone. But surely you're not talking about Brown CID, because developer phones aren't going to be released in to the retail market unless anyone has been fiddling with them with a box.0 -

btw, you cannot fiddle with hardware locked erom's i.e. >cid37 (only convert from brown>red not red>brown, as many cruiser users discovered before it was disabled in the later version, but still have dead phones). you would be surprised of the amount of se phones which leave the factory still in brown condition, i.e. k750i on vodafone from the last 6 months, a very large batch were brown.
