Sky On Demand

Hi We have a compatable Sky+ and our tv has a dongle so we have internet access on the tv so do we need to buy a wireless connector to view sky on demand or is there any way we can get it through the dongle?
Please excuse if this is a really stupid question - I had the dongle in the tv for nearly a year before I realised what it could do.

Hi, you will need a Sky+hd box, along with the on demand & sky+ subscription to receive on demand.
As for the wireless dongle, I was led to believe that you could only use a Sky wireless adapter to pick up the broadband signal to the Sky+HD box.

You don't need to buy Sky's own wireless adaptor at all. I use Homeplugs and an ethernet cable and get Sky On Demand just fine.0 -
And no, you can't share the TV's dongle.0

Ah, thanks - I do have all the relevant Sky + subscriptions, Sky e mailed me a few months ago to say we could have on demand at no extra cost but the broadband boxy thing is upstairs far away from the tv so need a wireless connector. Away to google to see what a Homeplug is.0

Well, the homeplug on Amazon was more expensive than a wireless box but.....I've been on Sky web pages and on the help forum and some people are having problems getting their wireless connection set up and to stay running. Does anyone know is this a common problem? I know nobody is going to join a forum to say all is well but wondered if the few people complaining are very much in the minority?0

How much is the Sky wireless dongle? These homeplugs look good value and will eliminate any potential wireless issues. http://www.ebuyer.com/455838-trendnet-200mbps-powerline-nano-adapter-twin-pack-tpl-308e2k0
