Can they find me ?

Hi all !

I'm looking for some help. I left a debt in my previous country.
When I moved here , some how the credit card company got my phone number and used call me.
Since I have changed my phone number , not for this reason. I would like to check my credit rating but I think I put any details about my current address they might be able to contact me.
What info can they see ?

Thanks !

Depends on the previous country. Experian and Equifax are present in many european countries. Some times they check for enteries abroad. If you tell us the country we might be able to be more specific.

If the debts are from Ireland, they will certainly find you over here if you have any type of account that leaves a footprint on a creditfile.

I'm not sure on how they can enforce it though, that will be a question for someone more knowledgeable than me.

It will still show up as a linked address on the credit file. Any address you have ever had with a credit account will have the details plus a date of last activity. Basically you have slipped up and will have to take this one on the chin.
  • If you changed the address on the next account then they will probably be able to find you...

This is how one of my debtors 'found' me... But they didnt contact me until about a year after I applied and got a credit card..

  • How much is the debt for? Maybe when they do start contacting you, you could offer them small token payments until you are able to address it?
