Hi guys, (sorry another question
)
I have an auction on eBay and was just browsing and noticed someone has stolen my photo and put it up on their listing (as their only picture I might add). I know it's mine because of the distinct shadowing from other objects in the picture and the table markings (it's cropped a small amount out, but that's it)
Is their anything I can do? Their auction finished before mine in ~35mins too
(they put theirs up for a shorter sell time)
Thanks,
Icey370

You can report the auction.
Report category copyright & trademark
Reason for report images or text copied from your listing

I like to take a pic of an item with an ODD item beside it , for sheer amusement factor I done this, ie a tin of beans next to an item to show its size but then I have a silly sense of humour and took pics of items being held in the paws of a big oversized teddy bear "holding" another item, and he showed up again sitting on a bike I had for sale hehe , and my pics have an amusement factor as well as being original! You see the item and have a laugh at the content!NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0

Ebay used to come down hard on this - but now even Ebay use your photos for stock photos.
I dont report them anymore - and sometines do it myself. Just watermark the pictures with your ebay name.
At least when I take someone picture - i have the decency to photoshop it and try and hide the fact. Some sellers have their item up for sale in MY living room

Found an option turned "on" in my eBay that said I was part of the program for sharing my stock photos. Something like that. I turned it "off".Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Unfortunately I had to replace my laptop HDD as it became corrupt so don't have photoshop anymore
have the disc, but I believe I accidentally shredded the key (I shred all paperwork)

Ebay won't do a thing about it.
A photo of ours was used by another seller and we have reported it seven or eight times but Ebay don't do anything. We even rang them twice about it and they still haven't bothered.
We resolved it by contacting the seller and advising them that we hadn't given permission for them to use our photo and therefore it was copyright theft - photo removed in minutes. Should have done this from the start rather than waste time and money going through Ebay.0
