Does you line manager/boss say 'morning' to you?

Ok, might sound like a silly question but its exactly want i want to know. In my current job my line manager never says good morning to me unless i say it first!! Infact she doesnt even talk me to me unless she has to first ie. Telling me to do something. It annoys me that i always have to speak to her first! Do your bosses and colleagues do the same to you?

Yes. All my team are friendly, we spend a good 10 minutes catching up and shooting the breeze.

Really depends tbh. If the champagne is poured, it'll be "Hi, have a drink". If being poured, it's "Oh, would you like one?"

I'm in a small office, there's 3 guys and me, I'm always the last one in in the morning and say good morning to them, they reply. There's not a lot of talking during the day and in the evening I'm the first one to leave and say goodbye....it's lonely and stressful sometimes!!

It depends on her mood... If you get a lively 'Good morning' then its gonna be a good day. If not... Look out!

Although I suppose if your team is massive it might be a bit of a chore to go round everyone.

Why does it annoy you? Maybe your line manager doesn't have great social skills?

I feel embarrassed that I'm always the last in and first out every day and this can affect my relationships with the guys in the office as I feel that they're annoyed with me even though they haven't said anything negative about when I come in etc.

Maybe if you can find a way to not let it annoy you then it won't be an issue

I need to find a way to not imagine what others are thinking!
