Help choosing a lipstick

Options
I have been shopping today and after a lot of trying on lipsticks from all price brackets bought one I thought I loved, and have just tried it on at home and I don't like it any more. :o:)

I am searching for a just pinker than nude, or even a deeper toned nude to wear for more formal day stuff mainly. I have fair skin, green eyes and highlighted hair and I just cannot seem to get the lipstick choice right these days, I get bored looking and getting it wrong.

I want something light, and not drying, no sparkle, but not matt. Glossy, maybe sheer. I don't mind blowing the budget for the right one, as the wrong cheap ones add up to more Han one good one anyway!

The one I bought today now I have seen it at home is just TOO pink for what I want.

How did lipstick shopping get so difficult? How do I get it right next time?

I'm also fair, green eyed and fair ish looks highlighted hair. I love no 7 moisture drench called rumour, it's number 02.

Is £9.50 I think but there is £3 off make up voucher doing the rounds.
  • How about a tint instead of a lipstick?

Benetint/Posietint or one of the cheaper versions are really good :)

I like benetint, I wear it as a casual day thing often, but I want an actual lipstick...more hydrating and a little 'dressier'. :) It also comes out a bit bright and happy for me. I have never tried the other one.

    But great product suggestion!

Ok, I will check this one out, thanks.

    Any other suggestions?

I am so keen to get this right now I am even wondering if there are professional advisers for this! The mistake purchase to day was space nk where I normally find advice quite decent.
  • Posietint is a bit softer pink, and I think they do a peachy one now... Cha Cha tint or some such?

I've heard a lot of people do well with MAC though I don't use them myself, my main brands are Urban Decay and Collection 2000 (and the occasional Illamasqua piece). C2000's stuff is actually pretty good a lot of the time for everyday wear, and very MSE ;) !

I love L'Oreal Star Secrets Linda Evangelista Mauve (number 716 from google check). Unfortunately you can only buy it online now from ebay and amazon :( The stick looks really pinky/ purply in some lights but when its on it actually looks nude as its a perfect colour for my lips which are quite rosy even though my skin is pale.

Check out the Boots 17 Mirror Shine lipsticks, they are fab! They are semi-sheer lipsticks, like a subtle gloss but without the stickiness and they feel very creamy on.

I have the shade Belle, and it's a lovely nudy pink with a hint of shine.

Annoyingly it might be a while before I can get to somewhere with a mac counter. I might have an opportunity next week, if I do I will certainly check there then. I have a love hate relationship with mac. Stuff is either brilliant or horrid for me!:D
