I saw this on HDUK this morning:

Previously you had to pay for the Movies and Sports packages (i.e. the whole caboodle) to be able to get the Sky 3D channels. This always irritated me as we have a 3D TV but don't want to pay the extra for channels we won't watch often just to get the 3D - especially since the 3D offerings are rather meagre at the moment.
Well it seems that thankfully Sky have finally seen sense and you can now get the 3D channel(s) free if you already have Sky HD and Entertainment. You need to log into your account, go to upgrade and you will see the option to add 3D free of charge.
I didn't get anything from Sky at all about this so thank you to betabelf on HDUK for this post otherwise I would have missed it.
Here is the link to the Sky page with all the details:
http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/3d/
And some info:
What do I need to get Sky 3D?
To watch Sky 3D entertainment, you'll need a Sky+HD box with Sky Entertainment Extra+ and a 3D TV.
To watch Sky 3D movies or sports, you'll need Sky Entertainment Extra+, Sky Movies and/or Sky Sports with the HD Pack and a 3D TV.
What is Sky 3D?
Sky 3D is Europe’s first dedicated 3D TV channel, bringing you the same incredible 3D experience you’d get at the cinema, in the comfort or your own home.
What can I watch on Sky 3D?
See a fantastic range of live sport, blockbuster movies, unmissable entertainment and ground-breaking documentaries, bursting out of the screen and into your living room, depending on your TV package.

You might now be able to access the channel but, without a Movies or Sport subscription, you won't be able to view about 90% of it's output!0

But the point is, even if only 10% of the 3D output is non-sport or non-movie, it will be free.0 -

It will only be free if you pay £31.50.
Or to put it another way, pay £31.50 and it's free.
So free costs £31.50. Or it's free for £31.50!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
