Apoca NHS Parking Fines For Staff

Hello, I work at University Hospital Of North Staffordshire, I work for the NHS in the A&E department, on the dates of 28/03/2013 & 08/04/2013, APCOA gave me a Parking Charge Notice from section 02. Parking without displaying a valid parking permit, which i can tell you is a complete utter scam. 1. I pay to park on the site if i can find a space £27.50/month. 2. APCOA haven't gave me my new parking permit from November 2012 when i was asked to renew it. 3. I AM STAFF!! NOT A VISITOR. Without staff at UHNS doing their job the hospital wouldn't run!!

I have tried to contact APCOA to discuss this and tell them in speak then in writing that i shall not be paying the fines after all I am parking on private land, but so far i have had no contact with them. They can threaten court action, debt collection but like people keep saying on MSE they have no law to do it. APCOA are been watched my OFT and Watchdog.

My advice don't be taken in my these Parking scams on private land anywhere.

Loads of similar threads agree with you, and the regulars here agree with you:

Either ignore it all, debt collector letters and all (but never ignore real court papers...they won't actually come!), or if still in time to appeal then do that and use the POPLA code with advice here on strong legal challenge wording to win at POPLA. You haven't been fined, it is indeed a scam fake PCN!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You are still in time to appeal both of these, assuming you so far just have a notice stuck on the window. Come back here for help with your appeal to the PPC once they have written to you after getting your details from the DVLA, and then again for your appeal to POPLA, which should kill it.

  • I received a parking on the multi storey at UHNS on 19/11/13 November, i parked on the top level and paid £2 for 4 hours, when i returned, i had received a ticket stating it was now a 'permit only' car park (the car park being a staff only first, then a pay and display and now a permit only)

I wrote to APCOA and explained what had happened including photos of parking signs/ working pay and display machine, with up to 30 more vehicles receiving tickets, but have not received any correspondance, only to receive a letter from Roxburghe dated 22/1/14 explaining that none payment of PCN, now i owe £98.

I notice that my surname is spelt in correctly on the letter from Roxburghe also

Shall i ignore it and where do i stand??

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
