Have you installed an app that is doing background updates/synchronisations? Many do (to update headlines/news/adverts), and some make things worse by switching on the GPS as well.

Do you have a poor signal in your house?

When the screen is off the iPhone disconnects from WiFi after a few seconds to save battery (ironically), but if you have a poor signal the phone will constantly be connecting and disconnecting from the mobile network, which uses up a lot of battery.

    Simple solution: charge overnight.

My battery isn't amazing either, took off charge at 9AM and it's now on 30% remaining. Better than any other phone I've had before though, including HTC Desire, Galaxy S2&S3.

Turn off 3G, turn off location services, turn down brightness and turn off auto-brightness, turn off auto date/time. You can then try turning the ones you need on one by one to see if any are having a big impact on the battery - with the most recent iOS update auto date/time on my iPhone was causing massive battery drain for some reason.
Close all the apps you have open in the background.

Another tip to help you identify what is causing the battery drain - how much charge does the phone lose overnight?
It shouldn't lose more than a couple of percent - if it does, either the battery is screwed, or it's something auto set date/time or push email or something like that which it is repeatedly doing all the time, draining battery.
