why not try to get your brother locked up in prison and get him a criminal record! you are indeed a sad sad dispicable person, despite the right and wrongs of his actions you want to get him locked up!!!!!!!!!
I am registered disabled , lots of MRI scans and consultant letters so im not some trying it on scrounger and 3 years ago my younger brother decided that in his opinion i want disabled for some reason and "annonymosley" reported me for benefit fraud , i havent spoken to him for 3 years now, havent seen my nieces and wouldnt allow somebody else to pi** on him if he was on fire , he will never set foot in my property again ever and tbh if he was dying i wouldnt bother to go see him, Blood makes people related and loyalty makes them family so are you and your brother family or relations? You need to seriously look at yourself if you are considering doing this and repriortise your life , i had a good relationship with my brother for most of our lives and did everything i could to help him , as for the benefit fraud report i had a good laugh with the fraud investigator and she was in total agreement that my claim was genuine and promised that there wouldnt be any more people watching my house again , thats right, i had fraud investigators sitting opposite my house on several occasions watching me who stuck out like a sore thumb with a jumbo bag of crisps, sun newspaper and bald head with stripey top which is why i recognised him from some benefit fraudster programme on BBC1 . I despair at what society has become when people are happy to report their family with the possibility of imprisonment simply because they are claiming a few quid that you think they aren't entitled to , you should be ashamed of yourself by even contemplating this sick behaviour on your own family.
  • Are you sure he only had to pay £1 a month?
  • So based on these comments, I should inform the DWP that my single mother daughter has the childrens' father round to stay in the house. They are accepted by all of the family as being together, yet she claims she is single and claims IS?

Should I also inform the DWP about my other daughter that still claims to be a single mum, claims WTC on that basis and HB/CTB as well yet lives with her partner?

If this country has come to accept that it is fine to pass information to the DWP/HMRC that will result in all manner of nasties happening to your children, then sorry, it isn't the country that I used to love and be proud of.

We probably all know someone in our close family that is breaking the law one way or another, but surely is it right that you inform the police or other government department?

Maybe people should 'shop' their wives' for having a little cash job on the side, maybe shop your grandmother because you don't think that she is providing a minimum of 35 hours of care every week for your grandfather yet claims Carers Allowance and says that she does?

Wuffles, I don't normally go all biblical but a quote which seems quite apposite here : Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

    It's extremely unlikely.

From what I've gleaned from the OP's and your posts is there are glaring differences.

Your claim was genuine, the OP's brother was actually prosecuted for benefit fraud.

Did you post on Facebook about your 'benefit fraud'?
    The OP's brother has.

    Yes.
    She is a benefit cheat.

    Yes.
She is a benefit cheat too.

It isn't the country that I used to love and be proud of when people are lying to obtain money under false pretences and other people know about this and stand by and do nothing.

We probably all know someone in our close family that is breaking the law one way or another, but surely is it right that you inform the police or other government department?
    Yes, it is right.
And no, there is nobody in my close family who is fraudulently claiming benefits.

Maybe people should 'shop' their wives' for having a little cash job on the side, maybe shop your grandmother because you don't think that she is providing a minimum of 35 hours of care every week for your grandfather yet claims Carers Allowance and says that she does?
    Yes, they should

My replies in red, although you won't like them.

Wow, having a family of benefit fraudsters, I'm not surprised that you have skewed ideas about benefit claimants.

So is the answer just to turn a blind eye and allow people to claim benefits they technically arent entitled to?

Im not saying I agree with any of the above decisions, but to say that someone in our close family is breaking the law one way or another.

Im self employed, every single penny I get is declared. Although I know plenty of people who are more creative with their books.

My mum works full time, my brother works full time and is self employed.

Its absolute nonsense to suggest people should turn a blind eye to stuff because everyone breaks the law one way or another.

And no, I dont go looking for people to report although I live in a housing estate where plenty of stuff goes on, some of it Ive heard from neighbours themselves, others from police. Im talking drug dealing, benefit fraud, handling stolen goods, all sorts goes on.

And while I dont think its right to be honest that the Govt makes claims that theres so much benefit fraud going on, its actually about 0.01 per cent of the full benefit bill or has phone lines where people shop one another. I think its ridiculous to suggest that turning a blind eye to people you know making fraudulent claims is ok because everyone breaks the law one way or another. Some people dont.

Even when I was working part time and claiming JSA I declared my hours in more than one job because in my view, not worth the risk of getting caught.

It must be tough to see someone being so blatant about being a benefit cheat and rubbing it in peoples faces. But Im not sure I could shop a member of my family either, in fact Ive better things to do with my life than shop anyone.

On their own conscience and risk be it.

He'll love your comments. He trolls on here to stir up hate against benefit claimants. Most of what he says is untrue.

As for countries one used to love and be proud of; I feel rather like that, but for a very different reason. I miss the Britain of relative equality and lack of hate for benefits claimants. It has become a mean and bitter place.
