ISP charging my bank card after I left them

Hi,
My old internet ISP, a small independent one, has just charged my bank card for a sum of money, 3 months after I migrated to another company. I received an invoice from them after registering the MAC code and paid the final amount over the phone and was told that I owed them nothing. Now, however, they have just taken money out of my bank account for no reason.
Is it legal for them to keep my bank card details after I've successfully cancelled my contract with them and taken my business elsewhere?

Is it a direct debit or continuous payment authority?
If it's a DD it's easily cancelled and if it's a CPA I believe it's much easier than it once was and if it isn't get a new card issued.0 -
you will have to expand, were you in contractDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
