I didnt think you were allowed to use ebay like this, done a search as I collect dolls, what if someone bids ? And has realised it was not an auction! I don't think ebay do anything about ads like this

I can see why she would do it - my tent and equipment was stolen last year from my garage and I was trawling Ebay hoping it would show up...0

I suppose it would be frustrating to be robbed and I would imagine you look for items showing up for sale, but it is unprovable unless you see a serial number on back of an item, that matches your own
If someone pinched off your car seat, it was the persons own fault for leaving a valuable item on display and not being security conscious ,and a chance thief perhaps a toddler, wander by and took it. Her local police could log it, and give her a crime reference number and her to try claim back from her car insurance, not sure she should be saying where crime happened, her name and how she is offering a reward for anyone finding this toy doll and using ebay as a notice board and offering a reward, an abuse of ebay auctioning facility I thought.
If I put an ad on saying that I lost a £1 coin in the city centre and I know it would be mine as has the queens head on one side ,please help me look and return to me asap, wonder if I would I get a response? :P0

Yes I left my garage open too so it was my own fault
I think these dolls are like children to some people and they are made to order so one of a kind - she must be desperate to get her baby back!0

That is true think she is never going to see it again and people reaidng her ad will think she is barking mad, though to be honest its face reminded me of my MIL LOL.
Am sorry about your garage being robbed, but thieves looking in garages are usually young scummy men and set out to try all the handles and turned yous and had luck and a fluke that your one opened. You just forgot to lock it and no point reporting it to police or anyone as no forced entry so no one would pay out .
We live in a crime filled world sadly, but ebay is for selling items and not for being a Crimestoppers bulletin board. As that is her own private business and has no place on an ebay page.0

Nowt mad about trying to get her property back or at least warning people who may see it that they might be buying stolen goods.
A lot of stolen property ends upon eBay so it's hardly surprising someone would ask/warn people there.Herman - MP for all! 0 0

I think that ebay customer reps must encounter people putting fake adverts on often suppose she was desperate and ,it was free for her to place the ad but it is not going to get her doll back .
And I dont care less about Chuckies sister being kidnapped ! LOL0

It's not quite the same, but a friend of mine did have some expensive and rare stuff stolen from his house. The police felt that the thieves had probably not realised the value of the stolen items and advised my friend to keep an eye on ebay. Sure enough, they watched ebay for about 3 weeks and the items appeared. My friend bid on them and won (they were a fraction of their real value) and then the police went to collect them. He got his money back from ebay and got his stuff back.
People who were selling them claimed they got them from a car boot so couldn't be prosecuted!!There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0

Blimey -well, you never know what crooks are going to sell next thinking that ebay is anonymous!
I seen the telly prog where people shoplift and punt their wares on ebay . I always wondered how they got those security magnets off the clothing items but must have a device up their sleeves, so sneaky .0

 Are you sure ?
and even if you are correct it was still a crime and should be reported.

Yes I did report it and get a crime number, turned out something was stolen from my neighbour's garage as well so the police were building up a profile.
We did not try the insurance company as it happened over the winter sometime but no idea when, I only found out when we were about to go camping!0
