  • Good morning everyone :)

Good luck with the interview Julie, I am so glad you decided to go.

Have GDD here for a few days as she is excluded from school until Thursday and DD is up to her eyes in uni work for this week and next 3 weeks of exams. So good old nan has to take some holidays from work and step in. I am disgusted with the school and particularly the headteacher and the exclusion will be appealed against, but how do you appeal against something that has already happened

Not much OS will be happening here today but we do have drawing and painting planned and some cooking later. She is still fast asleep at the moment and I think this is likely to be my only peace until DH gets home. Am still full of cold and my throat is horrible so will be dosed up with the cheapo Lemsip substitute very soon.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need them or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

  • Hilstep Is it a private home? If it is NHS then I don't understand why you have had to already pay £62,000 and they are trying to get another £11,000 out of you???

I have a couple of days holiday from work so I am hoping the weather stays sunny for me. Today is a fast day so I need to keep busy and out of the kitchen - I've lost 5lb so far! :D

Yesterday I began to crochet what I hope will be a cardigan....:o. I caught up on my pre-recorded SuperScrimpers yesterday too - the results of the loo roll & toothpaste comparisons were a surprise! I've always steered clear of the budget loo rolls, thinking they were false economy, but I think I'll give the Ald! one a go!! :)

Fingers crossed for you this week Halight! :)

    Morning all,
Busy day ahead, DD2 & SiL2b have cut their trees back so DH and I will go down with the trailer and bring the logs home. I'm having DGD2 & 3 when DD goes to do a big shop.
We phoned the tree feller who should have come to chop down our Sycamore last Wednesday, he said he had texted to say he couldn't make it but we never received the text. Hmmhh, don't believe him.
Anyhoo, he's coming to do it either tomorrow or Wednesday, will wait and see.
Bed stripped and remade, wm on the go with the first load, another 2 to do.
DH has roast lamb again for dinner, I need to shop for salad to go with my tuna.
    Have a good day all.
Hilly, please try not to worry, it wont help your Dad or your health. x

Hi everyone Hilly how worrying for you re your dads fees. I think they are trying it on, to get the money in their coffers ASAP. I think I'd just put them in touch with Social Services. As save-a-holic says, it's difficult to understand why you are being expected to foot the bill, as it's up to the resident to pay from their money, or for the social services to pay on their behalf. When my mum was in a care home, I facilitated the payments, but I was paying from my mum's money, and then later arranged for the social services to pay on her behalf.

ten years. I'm also being plagued by late / non eBay payers. Last weekend I sold 16, and had 2 non payers - I closed the cases yesterday. This weekend I've sold 15' so far 9 have paid. In my experience, if weekend buyers don't pay by Monday morning, they'll be VERY late payers or even non payers. It's just so rude not to pay promptly, or send a message to say they'll be a bit late with payment.

I'm not working at all this week, so have additional auctions finishing through out the week, so I hope I'll be going to the post office quite a bit.

Salmon for dinner today. My freezer is starting to look more empty, so I may be able to do the defrost next week.

    Have a good day.

    Morning all!
Just about to put the ironing board up, the WM has been emptied, and will throw a stew into the SC for later at some point, DD won't be in till 8 but I'm going out with my brother for lunch, a spot of tapas perhaps:)
I can hear the window cleaner's ladders rattling so that will be another job , but no time today! After an emotional weekend, DS is up and singing this morning, waiting for his telephone interview, so fingers crossed for him, he seriously needs something to boost his confidence just now as he is getting low again!
Right, off I go, have a good day all!

DS's application will now be put forward for review, and he will hear if he has a face to face interview, he has just been interrogated by a whispering south African woman, part of the testing process as the job is in a call centre!

    Hi all:wave:

Still recovering from my weekend; luckily Mr LW is made of more rubust stuff than I, and has happily trundled of to his paid stuff this morning, with a big grin on his face.;)
    *Waves to Hester *:D

Hilstep £11,000??:eek::eek: Where in the sam hell do they think you're supposed to find that sort of money?

Halight Pity I don't live near you; I'm pretty good with flat-pack, and even though I can't do much physically myself nowadays, I could have helped with sorting out what goes where.:o Good luck with it.:o

Sorry to hear of all the people having hassle with eBeast.:( I've never used it, other than to purchase a bottle of White Flower Embrocation which I used to get locally from a little shop that imported stuff from the Orient, but has closed now as the owner retired. I had to get my embrocation from a place in China!!:D But I've never bothered getting into selling, as any form of stress literally makes me ill, so we decided it's not worth it, we'll just send out cast-off stuff to the CS.:o

Jools fingers crossed for your DS – I couldn't do call centre work cos I'm so blimmin' deaf!:o

I have some hand-wash-only tops sitting in cold soapy water (they have to be washed cold, too) so I'd better go and rinse them and put them outside to drip on the grass.;)

    Hi All,
Save-a-holic I have been paying Dad's fees out of the sale of his flat. He We got £120,000 for it, but he had £40,000 of debt that I had to get rid of first! He'd run it up without me knowing. Then I funded his home place, and when it got to £20,00 I told Social Services. (You are allowed to keep £23,000) I am now down to £16,000 and he wants me to pay for a funeral plan too (This is an allowed expense apparently) So I will only have about £9,000 left and this has to pay his insurances, papers, toiletries, wine, beer, etc. He doesn't have a great life, so I don't mind getting him beer or wine, but the Social Office has practically accused me of taking the rest for myself. I would never do that, I only want what's best for my Dad, but they are horrible.:(

Waaiting to hear from DD now, will keep you all updated.
Thanks for all your support. :T
