Save on gas idea. Can it be done?
Hello! I go across the border to shop and save a lot of money. I find the gas price in Washington is really low compared to the high prices in BC. The only problem is I can only fill the tank of my car. The gas runs out in a week or two. I can only go to U.S. once every month.
So I'm thinking of buying a plastic gas tank, and fill that too when I go to U.S. Is it wise? Anybody knows anything regarding safety, etc.?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to MSE.
In the UK you are allowed to carry a small container with petrol in the boot of the car. But going by the details in your post I assume you are in Canada, as this is a UK based website I don't think that many of the users will be able to answer your question. Hopefully someone might come along that can, but don't be surprised if you don't get many replies.0 -
Here in the UK we have a limit on the amount of gas we can carry outside the car's own petrol tank. That is just one gallon, and it must be kept in a properly certified plastic container.henryq wrote:So I'm thinking of buying a plastic gas tank, and fill that too when I go to U.S. Is it wise? The reason for this is that carrying petrol around with you is about as safe as pushing a stick of dynamite up your butt and lighting the fuse.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
