    I can well understand Tesco being !!!!!! off with parkers taking the michael but they will find that it will be counter productive. £70 fine indeed, problem is I don't know of any way of stopping it except for the council to stop charging to park. I wonder if Tesco have planning permission to charge?

    This may be worth while digging up the planning permision for this store.
    also on top of that will the ratable value of the land change to reflect the new charging scheme, after all it wouldnt be rightfor a big buisness such as Tesco to be fiddling their buisness rates/tax would it?

    They may be one of only two tescos doing it but other supermarkets already do, my local asda and morrisons both have time limits with fines if you're there too long, and the asda you have to pay for the ticket, then if you spend over a certain amount they take it off your bill when you checkout
    Misc debts - £5,000 | Student loan - £9,000 | Mortgage - £180,000
    Goals for 2015: Sell house & downsize + Increase income + Get debt Free :shocked: {Diary}

    Its not a FINE though!
    If the planning permission from the council was for a free car park then Tesco are in breach.

    No they really don't, and that's the point of this thread! You need to stick around and read a few threads on this forum if you actually believe a Supermarket or any private company can FINE you...think about it, of course they can't!!

    HTH, that's just one of THOUSANDS of similar threads on here with links and advice so no victim actually pays one of these scam PCNs.

    And what about the many Watchdog programmes about this scam, did you never see Anne Robinson and the solicitor with the paper aeroplane?

    The VOA website lists this for their ratable value, if the store is on Garas road, Truro
    http://www.2010.voa.gov.uk/rli/en/basic/find/valuation/2010/11533905000/9089600000

    Just the Ground floor, and external storage, no mention of any car parking

    Ok, well I got a parking ticket from morrisons for going over their time limit so whether it's a 'scam' or not I still class that as paying money to them...

    I was at this Tesco on Tuesday. I saw the cameras, but there were no entrance signs or signs in the car park at all (I looked carefully, having noticed the ANPR cameras).

    I can only conclude that this scheme began after Tuesday, and that the signs are now in place; on the other hand, if I get an invoice in the post within the 14 day timescale, I know what my appeal is going to say.

    Morrisons do not issue parking tickets!

    Morrisons are unlikey to receive a single penny of any money you handed over
