Real spreadable butter is back

How big is the £1.50/2.00 pack? Butter costs me 98p for 250g, I don't keep the one I am using in the fridge, ever. In winter I need to soften it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. We get through a LOT of butter though so I suppose it doesn't need to last long here...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

It's the 250g size.0 -
I always keep salted butter on the counter top to soften it and soften it further above the slow cooker when it is full pelt as without fail it softens it, often too much if I don't watch it.
Probably softened butter is best idea but spreadable butter is good at least it is butter even though the addition of oil would change the nature of the beast into something not quite like butter.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Way back in the 1950s when I was in lodgings my landlady made butter spreadable by mixing in a little milk.
Bear in mind, that in those days the only warmth was from a fire in the grate so unlike today's central heating and double glazing it didn't 'go off'.0 -
I thought they made it spreadable by whipping it up with water.0

Butter still doesn't go off now days, even with CH & DG, I never keep it in the fridge, it stays on the side 24/7, never had it spoil yet.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I genuinely thought this was going to be about how the butter will spread again now that the weather has warmed up0
