Best Travel Money Option for 16 year old?

My daughter ,16, is off to Australia in a few weeks and I am looking for suggestions on her best way to take cash. I have been looking at the Travelex Cash Passport, which seems quite good, as it can be used like a debit and cash card. I just wondered if anyone had other/better ideas? Many thanks.

Have a look at the Kalixa card too, it's usually better value. But it's an idea to have a backup anyway so she could take both.

Not sure if the best value debit cards eg Metrobank, N&P, allow under 18's cards which work abroad - worth checking as this would be the best way.

Thanks for that. I've had a look at Kalixa, but they charge a registration fee and charge for overseas ATM withdrawls :-( Metrobank are over 18s only and N&P charge a monthly low usage. Might have to stuff her socks with AUS$$

Kalixa do charge £2.25 for withdrawals but the Travelex card charges 2.49% for ATM withdrawals and purchases so Kalixa will probably be better value overall, unless she makes lots of small withdrawals.

Someone here said they got round the N&P low usage charge by setting up 5 standing orders for 1p each ;)
