Wrong about unions? No, indeed I made an 'all above' remark, when in fact unions were mentioned by all above except you, apologies.Devon_Sailor wrote: »
I did no such thing. I assumed (quite correctly it would appear) that the OP is part of the "Global Anti Capitalist" bunch of ignorant, violent, thuggish scumbags who use May 1st as a generic excuse to cause criminal damage, harm law abiding businesses and try and injure police officers.
Please correct me if I am wrong?

Wrong about going out causing havoc?
I haven't seen any previous posting by the OP. Unless (s)he has posted elsewhere that (s)he goes out looting and rioting I can't say for certain whether you're right or wrong.
Personally, I would not accuse someone of criminal damage, GBH etc without reason. The irony of calling someone else ignorant, based on a stereotype, hasn't escaped me either
The video tells people to buy as much silver as they can on May 1st, not to go out protesting. We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

Exactly. Scary to think this propaganda is aimed at those who believe they are aware of being done over .The cynic in me thinks that it's just possible that the people behind the 'soundmoneycampaign' may be desperate to get the silver price back up quick before their margin calls come in.
Yes, their eyes are open to the government, banking, elite corruption (because it does exist), but blind to that of their own idols (for want of a better word).

They also ask for any bullion dealers who can offer "special rates" to email them. They're ramping silver, hoping to get a kickback from a "recommended" dealer, or a combination of the two.0 -
There's not many left at all.Thrugelmir wrote: »From what I've seen those that walk out are the ones that can afford it. The noveau middle class that Maggie created. Yet still retain their pre Berlin Wall views.
What most people don't realise is that it was not actually this government who started changing terms and conditions for public sector workers. Labour took new workers on under pretty standard conditions - my pay, leave, pension is almost exactly the same as previous private sector roles.
Labour however did not touch the old skool. That is what the ConLibs are doing now, trying to change the pensions and terms of those who have been there donkeys.
However, most took the opportunity to bail as soon as the VEDs were offered.
So you've just got a few old timers left, who, as you correctly state, can afford to strike.
The younger/newer additions are not interested as we are certainly not going to lose a day's pay to fight for a colleague's pension which is worth a damn site more than ours (pull the ladder up Jack

Union support - or strike support rather - is weak.We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

That's it repeat every right wing cliche towards anyone who doesn't accept the status quo! By the way I remember some awful behaviour towards the police by the scum bags on the countryside alliance demonstration. You see it all depends on where you come from and what you want for the future!Devon_Sailor wrote: »1) Grow up.

3) Don't forget to tell Mater and Pater that you will not be going to Pony Club on that day as you are going to go and play Revolutionary Class Warriors with your little friends.
4) Repeat point (1).
Hope the sun shines for you....it will make it easier for the Police to film you as you pointlessly screw up other people's lives for the day whilst you indulge in your inner need for Scumbaggery.

Funnily enough, as someone who's worked in the private sector for most of my life that's how I feel too now I'm in the public sector. I can think of better things to do with my money than pay union subs or go on strike. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I was walking down Park Lane on Thursday evening. There was a small demonstration going on outside the Grosvenor House Hotel, involving a load of bods waving Unite flags, while the police were trying to stop them causing too much trouble.
They had spilled out from the pavement into the road, and the whole thing was causing a bit of a traffic pile-up by blocking off the inside 2 lanes.
The drivers who appeared to be most inconvenienced, and the most annoyed were driving London Buses, as it was their bus lane that was blocked.
It occurred to me, London bus drivers are members of the Unite union too, and it was their "brothers" who were making their working life a nightmare.
It's a funny old world
