I am impressed with those here who have the patience and can read this long post with no punctuation or paragraphs.

OP have you asked if there is a specialist nurse , school nurse etc who can help you with the form? They would also maybe be able to advise you whether you have a reasonable chance of being succesful with your claim.

You will also need supportive evidence: paediatrician or eye specialist, nurse at school who administers the drops maybe? Also if you do claim, make sure that your GP knows, as they often contact them for up to date info. If your GP hasn't seen your child for a while ( not uncommon where a child sees a specialist ) then they need to know what her care needs are, otherwise they will just write back saying they don't know, which doesn't help your claim at all.

Anyone looking at the form for claiming DLA can see that there has to be a lot of extra care or supervision needed to be entitled to DLA. That's why I advised OP to see a nurse or someone to help her complete the form- if they are experienced they can then advise if it is worth claiming or not.

I know a lot of people say claim anyway, but that just bogs the system down and slows it for others. I used to help people with claims when I was health visiting and was always honest in telling people if I thought their claim would fail. I would still help them fill it in if they wanted to continue ,but was clear that I wasn't going to up the ante to try and make the claim successful.
