Opinions: Nationwide 30 month fix at 2.8%

I am looking at opening one of these (Nationwide 30 month fix at 2.8%) for a fixed rate ISA that matures with Nationwide in May. I am assuming I will be offered this option before its pulled; I am waiting for the transfer form with my options to be posted out to me (may get it tomorrow).

What are people's views on this; is it a good rate for 30 months (2 and 1/2 years)? I should also be able to get 2.25% variable as an easy access alternative, but I don't expect this would increase by more than 0.5% in 2 years.

if you willing to lock your money for 2.5 years, i suggest you to check santander major isa fixed for 2 years only, and it gives you better rate of 3%!
But of course you will need to open current account with santander wich will cost you 2£ per month.
Or you can consider halifax ISA 3% fixed for 3 years (only 6 months longer than your 2.5 years plan). Also a bit better rate.
    Just my 2c

I applied for the Nationwide 2.8% fixed in the end. The Halifax 3.0% fix isn't available now or I would have chosen that instead.
