The agent will be up.
Unless the cashier's stolen the cash you'll be fine.
The receipt will be what any ombudsman or court will consider as the key proof. So you're stuffed if this scenario plays out.If the agent denies any discrepancy what can I do?0 -
Well the cash was given to me as the deposit for a car that I have just sold so I could get that person to verify the fact
Could you also get them to prove that you didn't spend £285 of it before heading to the bank?
This may be a hard lesson, but it just shows that you should ALWAYS check your receipt!0 -

As it was paid in at an agency branch it's less likely there'll be cctv footage.0 -
I know it's too late now, but always check the amount on your receipt before you leave the bank/building society / agency, then any problems can be sorted out there and then.
It's a weird mistake to make. I could understand it if the cashier had keyed £30 instead of £300, but not sure how they managed to enter £15.
You'll just have to hope their till was £285 over on the day.Early retired - 18th December 2014

15 x £20 = £3000
