What does a visit from the washing machine repair person cost these days?
Whatever it is, I saved myself that cost last night.
LAte on, house power tripped out....oh dear, thought I, just what I don't need at bedtime.
After a process of elimination [pull a fuse, see if power trips, put it back, try another]......eventually, after an hour of the house lights flashing on & off, [driving the smokers outside the pub opposite back into the bar for another?]....eventually traced the culprit...it was the washing machine!
Oh lordy, expense I could well do without?
Plus, calling out a repair person is a right pain, as I work full time, but am a half-time single parent...so no-one handy to 'wait in?'
Anyhow, thought I'd take a gander...wasn't the plug..took top off machine [very easy, dunno why we pay so much for a call-out?]......internal mains plug fine...took back off, to trace the two wires..rummaging around in the dark with a torch.
The wires went to a circuit board, via a small plug....went in to remove plug [power was off]...touched something incredibly slimey...YUK!!!!!
A slug had managed to crawl inside the washing machine innards, across the plug, and its slime had shorted things out, frying itself , and tripping the house circuit breaker to boot!
With stick, removed fried slug...with contact spray, cleaned slime from the two small terminals, and wee plug....re-assembled same [not the slug].....screwed back and top back on...all working fine!!!
Saved myself some serious dosh too...and all in me jarmies!!!
The fun of rural living? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Good and I'm glad you're enjoying the lovely weather... it's way too nice to be inside at the moment. Let's hope this stays for a bit longer and we finally get a half-decent summer, eh
