Exactly! and the fact that more people are in work says little! Its whether the jobs are full-time or not...that's what counts to peoples standard of living.
The last survey showed the number of people in full time work increased by 60,000; 394,000 increase from last year.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Announcement on the 18th that Unemployment had officially risen by 170,000 !
Which was the first rise for 18 months despite your constantly going on about how Britain is careering towards economic disaster.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. That makes you being right once in 18 months a terrible return.0 -
unemployment?
is that the total number of people within the suitable age range less people in employment?
is that the total number of people within the suitable age group less people in employment, education or training?
is that the number of people actually looking for work?
is that people signing on?
etc etc
clearly there has been / is a situation where lot idle people are clainming benefits but not really looking for work or are registered at 'disabled'
so there can be situations where there is a 'welcome' increase in unemployment numbers which has no actually basis in the 'real' world of work as people are simply being reclassified0
