"Other income" can have come into other bank accounts. Just transfer £1K (in one or several payments) with Faster Payments and you are done.

Another income i.e. a salary or pension. Not just a transfer.

Switch them then switch back or do it over the phone with them, they are pleasant to deal with.

I transferred about 4 years ago so I'm not 100% up on what the terms are now.

Do you only have the one current account at the moment?

At the moment we have 2 halifax reward accounts, 1 is the main joint account with all income going in to, it has about 15 direct debits/standing orders.
The second has a transfer from the first account of £1000 and 2 direct debits.

I have a santander account, only child benefit goes in and 1 dd out.

Hubby has a Lloyds TSB account only 1 payment going in and nothing going out.

Now we have opened 2 First Direct accounts to get the £125 and open the 6% savings account.

Oh come off it. Just £1K paid in from somewhere will do.
