help please. my s3 has died completely. took to samsung repair centre, and it has been sent away to samsung as they couldnt fix it. The phone is 10 months old and on a 24 mth contract with Orange. Orange have told me to purchase a cheap payg till mine comes back. I am completely lost without it and wanted to haggle with them. What should i go for? New phone? Free month? I have been with Orange for over 20 years now!!

If you've been with Orange for so long then you must surely have a spare handset lying about.

It is worth looking at getting a SIM adapter.

Or, if it came as a combi-SIM, you may be able to insert the micro-SIM (the smaller one that fits the S3) into the SIM.

I'm not familiar with whether Orange offer these. In the example below, the "normal" SIM pushes out, but there is a further push-out for the micro variant:

If this is how yours came and you still have the bit that it pushed out of, you may be able to carefully re-assemble it and insert it into a handset that takes the normal SIM.

Tried that.. like i said the spare phone is also broken/ wont recognise a sim card. I need to haggle with Orange and get some sort of solution, other than "buy a cheap phone we'll credit your account"

There is no haggling to be done here, you are entitled to nothing. All you can do is hope for some goodwill, which they have already offered you in the form of crediting you for the PAYG credit.
