Will phone sim work in tablet or Huawei mi-fi device
Have 2 unlocked phones and want to know if the phone sim can be used with a tablet or a mi-fi device?
Main contract sim only (3 mobile) would be in the unlocked iPhone 4 and would like to use this on iPad 3 occasionally for browsing.
The other sim would be a GiffGaff for 'er indoors using unlocked Samsung Galaxy Grand with £12 goodybag, can this be used for her unlocked Huawei mi-fi device? (both standard sim)
Thanks

No, you may be blocked by giff gaff. You need one of their gigabags.
It's a rip off if you ask me.0 -

Ok thanks for your advice.
Any idea about the sim-only deal on Three? I was going to get the Ultimate Internet 600 deal that allows unlimited data plus calls/text. Would I still have problems if I switched that sim into my iPad for occasional browsing?0 -

Well technically (and imo) there is no reason why a mobile sim can be put in a mobile broadband device as well (iPad).
But networks have decided to write in the T&C that mobile sims have to be used with mobiles, and broadband sims have to be used with broadband devices.
There have been reports of Giff Gaff/Three blocking people for doing the above.
So it's up to you if you want to take the risk. As long as you don't use it all the time it should be fine. But don't sign up for 12/24 months if you plan on doing this.
In my opinion it's stupid because data is just data across any device. But networks do have the right to cut you off from that device.0 -
Too late I just signed up for the 3 mobile 12 month deal:o
I bought a data sim from 3 a while ago for the mifi modem and that was a 1 month sim only deal. When I went to cancel it, they reduced the cost from £15.99 to £8 a month for 5 Gb.
So I might as well just keep that running too rather than risk getting cut off.
These phone companies aren't going to improve on things like this while they get their profit margins cut on European roaming and 0800 calls. :mad:0
