Not unless you are married to him or you expect him to take an active role in the conception

That made me laugh :rotfl:
I wouldn't tell him but then I wouldn't tell anyone else either just in case it doesn't happen. It's bad enough dealing with all the emotion without everyone asking how you are wink wink etc.
Hoping you get your good news soon x0 -
Dont tell him. At the end of the day you'll be going on mat leave and more concerned with babies anyway rather than how the business will function without you!#KiamaHouse0

There is such a thing as over-sharing. Do you really want your boss to have images of you enjoying sexy-time with your OH? Because that's the picture he'll have stuck in his head if you tell him you're trying for a baby."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Also, every boss must realise that if he employs women of child-bearing age, then pregnancy is a likelihood. If he doesn't consider that eventuality then he's a bit silly, really."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Im in the minority here but youve been there for 10 years and as its only the two of you will probably have quite a close relationship. It may come as a bit of a shock to him to lose his right hand woman as it were.
In a small business things are obviously more difficult to replace staff than a large company and in his position I would definitely want to know,0 -
If you've worked with your boss for ten years then presumably he knows you well enough to know you aren't a child hater to whom the idea of having a baby would be horrific to you...........so unless he's very tick he'll realize it's on the cards sooner or later.
Honestly my reaction to an employee telling me they were "trying" would be TMI from a employee to boss perspective.
Plenty of time to let him know when you need time off for your scan
