Sky yahoo fiasco

I am at my wits end! Since the switch-over from Sky to Sky Yahoo my emails have gone haywire on my phone,laptop and ipad.
I can't see any sent emails since 1 April (though occasionally I see a random few). I have no received messages on my phone since 3 April. On other devices (ipad, laptop, work desktop) I have an inbox but no sent mail. I believe it's something to do woth Imap/POP3????!!
The thing that I don't understand is that nobody seems to be mentioning it, other than on the Sky site, where are tons and tons of similar problems. Sky say they will answer all queries, mine included I hope, but with the mountain of questions I can't see that happening quickly!
Has anyone else had these difficulties and what did they do? It seems complicated. Help!!

thats what you get using an isp email address ,
just use gmail and forget the isp email stuff

Thanks - think I'm going to cut my losses and do that - far less complicated it seems.

I'm in the same situation, but dont understand how the use of a gmail address is different? Sorry, dont understand the tedchnical stuff. Help please.

I was using Outlook 2010 to get my Sky email and didn't have to change anything when they swapped to Yahoo. It just worked.
